FAQs

About the Room

What is an Escape Room?

An escape room is where we put your team in a themed room and you must try and escape by solving puzzles and challenges. You will have 60 minutes to complete your interactive real time experience.

You are guided through a series of clues and puzzles. Working as a team you must solve the puzzles in order to escape.  Obviously, it is not quite as easy as that but the experience is designed to be as realistic as possible.

For instance our Secret Hut is modelled on the huts at Bletchley Park.  We have tried to make your experience as authentic as possible.  Consequently, it feels like you are actually transported back to 1940 for 60 minutes.

Are we locked in?

At no point in the experience are you physically locked in the room.  You are free to leave at any time.  However we would rather you stay and complete the game!

How many people can play at once?

We recommend 4 people, but we can accommodate groups of 2 to 6. More people doesn’t necessarily mean a faster escape!

Who’s it suitable for?

Friends, family, corporate team building events, nights out – anyone who would like to experience something different!

It doesn’t matter if you are new to escape rooms or an experienced gamer.  See our Kudos Challenge which will explain more about our clue system and the difficulty levels.

‘The Rock’

  • Due to the adult themes in the room children must be 13 or over.
  • There must be a full paying adult playing in the room.
  • At least one member of the group must have good mobility.
  • You will be restrained when entering the room.
  • Theatrical effects including strobe lighting are used in the room.

‘The Secret Hut’

  • Children under 8 are not permitted to take part in the game.
  • Children 8 to 13 years old must be accompanied by a full paying adult in the room.
  • Those 13 to 17 must have an adult over the age of 18 either playing or present onsite.

Who can attend?

Are the rooms claustrophobic?

There are some confined spaces in both rooms, but plenty of space – even with 6 people.

There is also a panic button in the room which will be pointed out to you on arrival, pressing this will immediately end the game and the door will be opened.

If you have any concerns please discuss with your host on arrival.

Are the games physical?

‘The Rock’ requires at least one fully mobile player in the team and is more physical than ‘The Secret Hut’ – please see individual rooms on our website for more information on these games.

I’m pregnant, can I join in?

‘The Rock’

  • We would not recommend this room if you are pregnant.

‘The Secret Hut’

  • Yes! There’s nothing physical, and we can put a chair in the room if you’d like to sit down at any point.

Both rooms are constantly monitored by your host and in the event of any emergency you would be able to leave straightaway.

Do you cater for guests with disabilities?

Yes, we’ll do everything we can to assist guests with disabilities.

Unfortunately the age of the building does prevent wheelchair access so the games are not suitable for wheelchair users.

We always recommend you get in touch with us via our contact page before booking to discuss.

My Booking

How do I book?

All bookings are made online, in advance.

It is a live game experience, and therefore we are unable to accept cancellations and have a strict no refund policy.

This includes when using gift vouchers from our own or 3rd party sites.

What are your opening times?

Advanced online bookings only. Our opening times vary, so we recommend looking at our booking page (and clicking book now). This will give you a live calendar of what is available.

Do you serve alcohol?

No. Under no circumstances are you to consume any alcohol before playing your game. If you arrive under the influence of any alcohol you will not be admitted or refunded.

How long should I expect the experience to last?

Please allow 90 minutes for your game to last from start to finish.

You’ll receive a short briefing when you first arrive.

The actual game lasts around 60 minutes (depending on how quickly and if you escape).

With your permission we will take a group photo for social media afterwards.

What time should I arrive on the day?

Your host may be occupied with a game session should you arrive too early. Try to aim to arrive 10 minutes before your start time.

What if I’m running late?

Try to give us a call (our number is on the contact page), or e-mail as soon as possible to let us know.

Even if you’re running late we sometimes allow you to play with a reduced time limit. We will always try to accommodate late arrivals and provide the full experience. However it is likely your game time will be reduced if you arrive late.

If you are more than *20 minutes late your game will be cancelled and you will not be refunded or rescheduled, as this would impact on the next session.

*20 minutes starts from 10 minutes before your booked slot time.  For example, for a 2.00pm booked slot we ask that players arrive at 1.50pm.  If players haven’t arrived at 2.10pm then the game will be cancelled.

Is there somewhere to park the car?

Yes, we have plenty of free parking on site.
